Corey in 5 Facts
-
I grew up in Monroeville, Alabama, and photography became the way I learned how to make sense of art, people, and storytelling.
-
Most of the people I photograph don’t love being in front of a camera and that’s exactly who I’m best at guiding.
-
My work is built for walls, not hard drives. Every portrait is created with the idea that it will live in your home.
-
One of my most meaningful portraits is the last image of me with my dog, Starbuck, and it shaped how deeply I believe in keeping memories visible.
-
I believe portraiture should build confidence, not just document what someone looks like.
What it's like to photograph you
Most people who walk through my doors don’t love being photographed.
They’re worried about how they’ll look, what to do with their hands, whether their smile feels forced, or if they’re doing it “right.” My job is to remove all of that pressure.
You won’t be rushed. You won’t be left guessing. You won’t be asked to perform.
I guide you through the entire process, from how to stand, where to look, when to breathe, etc. so you can relax and be present. The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is comfort, confidence, and an experience that doesn't make you feel like you're having portraits made.
This experience is designed to slow things down, pay attention, and create something meaningful; something that deserves a place on your wall long after today has passed.
What families often share after their experience
"Corey is awesome with the seniors and parents (grandparent) in our case.
Corey has a way of making the kids feel comfortable and makes picture taking a fun and enjoyable event. I definitely recommend Corey for your portraits. Great job Corey!"
